The Ides of March: Up a Lazy River (Part 1)

We have reached the middle of March. On this date in 44 BC Julius Caesar was assassinated. If Rome on March 15, 44 BC was as warm and sunny as Fort Worth is today, Caesar certainly had good weather for it.

Five days until spring. Not that we’re counting. Seen on the Clear Fork in middle March:

Did someone say “march”?

Low-water crossings.

There’s one in every crowd (and on every log): eight turtles, seven of them facing the same direction.

Hunkered heron.

Spring break rocks.

Duck! Caesar may have been stabbed, but at least he wasn’t mooned by mallards.

Cormorants and jogger.

Tracks and quacks.

A bicycle built for two. Well, one and a half anyway.

Tracks and quacks is my choice!

Steve: Then that makes TWO of us with no shame. But seriously, thanks. I had fun cruising the river, even though the wildlife hate the paparazzi.
