More residents of the Clear Fork seen in their neighborhood this week (see Part 1):
Scissortail.
Bluebird. There are nesting boxes on the fence of the old Edwards Ranch.
Red-winged blackbird, ducks, turtles.
Egret.
Minnow on the end of a heron.
Birds, bless their heart, can’t parallel park, can’t program a DVR, can’t bake a souffle, can’t do algebra (I’ve seen their report cards), can’t do essentially any of the infinite number of things that we brilliant Homo sapiens can do. But when it comes to one skill, they will always be one flap ahead of us.
