On the Level

Here are three flat-topped houses seen around town.

On Fairmount Avenue, built in 1917.

On 5th Avenue, built in 1926 with matching detached garage in rear. One of the smaller homes designed by Joseph Pelich, who designed public schools, the original Casa Manana, the 1938 public library, Daniel-Meyer Coliseum, and mansions in Park Hill (including the Clark “murder mansion”).

On University Drive. “Doctor, when I look at this photo, I see two sugar cubes kissing. Is that bad?”
